Large Stork Heron Flamingo Bird Pin Vintage Rhinestones Enamel Huge Brooch
This Large Vintage Heron Pin is Whimsical and looks a lot like a Flamingo or a Stork; we think it's unusual. It is not only set with Rhinestones, but has an Orange, translucent Enamel accenting some of its Feathers. The legs and Feet have a reminiscent pose, detail and molding of Marcel Boucher and his famously designed Dancing Heron Brooch with its wide Flapping Feathers. This pin is Huge measuring about 4-1/2" high and 3-1/4" wide measuring from where his Beak moves out in front of him, to the back of his Rhinestone tail Feathers. This Vintage Pin is made from a white metal and is set with clear or White on his Crown and Tail feathers.
The front of the Pin is Gold Tone. On the back the body of the Bird is Goldtone; the Tail Piece is Silver Tone. There are 6, Silver Tone Rivets showing on the back that appear to hold the applied Wings and the Rhinestone Cap and Tail. These are stationary Rivets and Do Not allow any of these attached pieces to move, but just are only attached and secured by these Rivets.
There are no hallmarks or makers marks. On the back there is a very long, 2-1/4 hinged, pin stem that rests in a Circular locking Clasp - that is in Excellent working Condition. With all of the Extending Wings, Neck, curling head feather, Beak, Feathers, Legs and Feet, overall this Wonderful Brooch is in Really Great Condition. There is some surface wear to the Metal, but overall the Finish is Good. The Enamel, which is only applied to some of the Feathers, not all - it is in Very good Condition with only minor chipping. There is one Rhinestone missing from the head cap and one missing from the Tail. There are no breaks or bends to the metal.International Buyers - Please Note.
