A vintage 1970s black clear Swarovski rhinestone crystal'Prince of Wales' Feathers costume jewelry brooch pin signed Attwood & Sawyer. Offered for sale here is one of the rarer and avidly sought after Attwood & Sawyer pieces. A real piece of Chic womens jewelry. The brooch is an exact copy of the original diamond brooch which was gifted to Wallis Simpson by Edward VII.

This brooch depicts a very large'The Prince of Wales's' feathers, and it is a close copy of the actual heraldic badge of the Prince of Wales. It consists of three white ostrich feathers emerging from a gold coronet. The only missing piece to be an exact replica is the ribbon below the coronet which bears the motto Ich dien (German, "I serve"). The brooch designed as a plume of three white feathers, signifying The Prince of Wales and set with baguette and brilliant cut rhinestones set in a rhodium plated frame, the baguettes forming the feather spines, the three feathers gathered by a rhinestone set 22k yellow gold plated gold crown, marked on the reverse with the Attwood Sawyer makers initials. Size 3" x 2 1/2", approx.

This a wonderful piece of unisex mens or womens jewelry. The piece, as with all Attwood & Sawyers, is exquisitely made and oozes quality. This particular brooch is one of the rarer pieces and not often seen on the market, so don't let it slip away as the likelihood is it will be a long time before another comes onto the market.

Attwood & Sawyer was established in Porthcawl in Wales in 1956 by Mr Horace Attwood and his silent partner Mr Sawyer. Over the years they established a high profile image of outstanding design and quality costume jewellery pieces. Many of the enduring Attwood pieces had historical reference such as the Panther necklace, earrings, bangle and brooch suite and the Peacock and Flamingo brooches were all the interpretations of the Duchess of Windsor personal jewellery pieces. The company was responsible for making a number of the jewellery sets on the US TV hit show'Dynasty' with Joan Collins. Buckley Jewellery Ltd were successful in acquiring the Attwood and Sawyer brand in 2001, including their entire back catalogue of designs.
