This beautiful vintage combination brooch and/or pendant was designed by Vendome, a division of Coro Jewelry. Coro's Vendome line began in 1944, with the idea of creating a special array of high quality, expensive pieces of Coro. With an eye for quality. And top-of-the line stones, this is a rare and stunning example of the efforts of Vendome. This pin is also unusual due to the fact that you could alternatively wear it as a pendant. On the back, besides the brooch rolling clasp, there is a Coro clip earring finding that functions as a pendant bail, making this a versatile addition to your jewelry collection.The stones is this piece are all prong set and light catching. The center stone in the Maltese cross design is a round, deep green emerald colored glass cabochon. It is accented by stunning iridescent aurora borealis rhinestones rhinestones.
The four arms of the cross are embellished with a combination of faceted and smooth marquis shaped emerald green and cobalt blue glass stones. Round faceted aurora borealis stones are artfully placed here and there. This pin is signed "Vendome" on a back plaque on the reverse, with what appears to be an indiscernible patent number. The "Coro" logo is on the earring finding that functions as a pendant clasp, making this a versatile addition to your jewelry box! This pin is a large size and measures 2 1/8" x 2 1/8" x about 1/2 in height.It is in very good vintage condition, as you can see from the numerous photos. The silver tone metal shows a teeny bit of wear on back of piece with some minor scratches here and there. The original stones, when ch are all print set, appear to be in excellent shape.
