Oval shaped when placed together. There are two Patent numbers, One is 1798867 which is a 1931 patent for one part of the mechanism; and the other is 1852188 which is from 1940/1941. This is in very good condition - looks better than the photos. It is signed Coro Duette on the back.
There are hinged levers on each side that when the pin is opened and the hinges pulled upward it exposes fur clips/dress clips and allows the two pieces to be used separately. G2.5 - LD 8/27/18.
We carry mostly vintage jewelry across all themes in my stores and listings. At one point we had a gift shop/rubber stamping store and switched over to vintage jewelry about six years ago on a full time basis, which also including taking and completing gemology classes as well as jewelry appraisal studies. You may see both names until the migration is complete. WE DO NOT STORE FINE METALS AND GEMSTONES ON PREMISES. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT QUESTIONS MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BE ANSWERED IMMEDIATELY.
