Vintage Goldette Reverse Carve Intaglio Cupid Venus 20 Hat Stick Pins Brooch Pin
Featured is a Victorian Revival styled brooch crafted with an amber glass reversed carved relief of Cupid and Venus which sets amidst an ornate medallion metal form which links 20 hat stick pin adornments of variety: a crown, snakes, cameos, bees, roses and other flower designs. This jewelry is an unsigned brooch by Goldette - they did not mark all their jewelry - they're known to produce Victorian jewelry. There is also currently listed a signed Goldette small vase pin with similar stick pin designs. The decorated pieces on this large brooch have rhinestones, faux pearls, turquoise or coral colored plastic seed beads.
The jewels are set securely intact - no missing elements. The jewels are also in tip top condition - no broken pieces -- the rhinestones have retained brilliance and the faux seed pearls have a luster sheen. There are no missing, dented or bent out of shape stick pins. The plated finish is in excellent overall condition with nominal loss of plating seen on a few of the stick pin stems - very minor and not distracting.
Backside, the finish also is in excellent condition. The amber glass front side has some superficial light, faint surface scratches - not noticeable.The centerpiece is of a good visual size, measuring 2 by 2 inches, and the brooch itself measures 3 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches. It appear larger than that measurement given the three dimensional shapes and open stick pin settings. The jewelry has working hardware -- with the materials used, it will be somewhat heavy when worn. Presently, the brooch is in near mint condition, especially the unique design, jeweled settings and shape of the plated finish.
