Vintage Jewel Crest Donald Simpson Rhinestone Brooch & Earrings Original Box

This is a 1950's Jewel Crest Rhinestone flower Rhinestone crystal brooch, with matching screw back earrings, by Iconic Australian jewellery designer Donald Simpson. This pieces are in great condition with no missing stones. This lovely Vintage brooch dates to between 1950 and 1960 and measures 52 mm in length. The Earrings measure 25 mm in length. Signed Jewel Crest on reverse of brooch. White metal with Rhodium plating with clear Round and Marquis shaped rhinestones.

These pieces come in their original vintage Simpson Red Velvet box and will be sent in the box. (box is showing its age). Condition is very good for 60+ years, no missing stones. Last photo is a comparison photo, but has no matchings earrings or original box.

Donald Simpson was an iconic Australian Jewellery designer. This stunning example is made from clear crystals, the brooch is marked Jewelcrest with an early stamp, one for the collectors, and is mounted high quality iconic boomerang backing in a rhodium plated finish. Donald Simpson was a master designer of Australian Costume Jewellery, he began his designs with his own name and stamps include "Originals by Simpson", Simpson Jlry Pty Ltd, and Simpson, later he designed for Jewel Crest and Founded Gay Charm.

Some designs included rhinestone crystals, cultured pearls, sterling silver, alloys that were gold vermeil plated or rhodium finished. Not all items were signed, but either were included in a signed Jewellery box or were paper labelled. His workmanship was second to none.
