Vintage Levine-Simson L-S Signed Aurora Borealis Extra Large Butterfly Brooch

Stunning oversized vintage butterfly brooch by Levine-Simson Co. Featuring an elaborate dimensional design covered in sparkling aurora borealis and clear rhinestones. The butterfly's wings are constructed with layers of elongated marquise/navette-cut AB rhinestones that flash shades of blue, pink, gold and green as they catch the light and round clear rhinestones accent the wings. The reverse is signed L-S on an applied rectangular maker's plaque.

Of New York, likely dating to the late 1950s-1960s, based on the style, construction and use of Aurora Borealis rhinestones.
