Offered here is a beautiful mid-century Austrian crystal trembler brooch, measuring just under 2 inches tall and marked MADE IN AUSTRIA on the reverse. The brooch is constructed in a dimensional leaf or floral spray design with a rich jewel-tone palette of teal blue, deep sapphire blue and emerald/forest green crystals, all set into warm gold-tone metal.
But the wonderful detail is hidden in its construction. Three central sections are mounted so that they gently tremble and move with the wearer. That tiny amount of movement changes the piece completely. As the wearer walks or turns, the articulated stones catch the light from slightly different angles, producing the lively sparkle that gave vintage "trembler" jewelry its name.
