Rare Vintage SCHREINER NEW YORK. High Domed Large Faceted Pink Center Brooch/Pin Pendant.

Is unique, very hard to find Schreiner's ultra high domed design. The Pin is modeled in gold-tone metal. Rectangular center is of clear soft pink glass. The Pin has two elaborated layers surrounding central stone.

The upper layer is constructed with one round of brilliant clear navettes. The lower layer is designed with 4 inverted soft pink square corners and 4 inverted soft pink navettes framed with small brilliant clear inverted chatons.

Dimentions: Brooch size is 2 1/4" x 2". All stones are present, original and looking super bright and luxurious with absolutely no damage.

Dear Schreiner jewelry lovers and collectors! I was honored to be contacted by Henry Schreiner's grandson about this Pin. With his permission I would like to share his story with the community. Feel free to add to your post.

Mom, and dad took over the business after my grandfather's death in 1954. Through the years he had acquired a large inventory of limited amounts of old, odd shaped, or large stones, sometimes only a handful of a color, or shape.

Once he stopped casting, he was unable to use them since there was not enough of them to justify having custom settings made for each style/ shaped stone. My dad, Ambros, was determined to find a use for these stones for two reasons.

One' was just to use them up. The other was to show case some long gone master glass-smiths work, as many of these stones were already old when Henry bought them from the 30s till he died. Dad was able to figure out how to make handmade, or reshaped standard settings to fit the stones. Ruby colored center stone is an example, of his handy work the center stone is held up by the bottom rows of clear navetts, and long prongs hold it from the top.

Since these were all custom/ handmade, they were produced in very limited amounts, and when the stones were used up, they were gone forever. Hope you enjoyed the Schreiner family history!
