Vintage Trifari sterling silver crown rhinestone brooch. It is signed Trifari and marked Sterling, Des Pat Pend and 137542. This is an Alfred Philippe design from the 1940s. The design patent for this piece was awarded in 1944. It is the larger version of this pin, which was made in 2 sizes. It measures about 1 7/8" x 1 3/4". The last photo shows the 1940s Alfred Philippe design drawing that was submitted with the patent application, and is included for reference only. This brooch has been lovingly restored to its innate glory. Vintage brooch in very good, lovingly restored condition. The piece was missing about a dozen stones when I got it, including the smaller green one in the center of the crown, about 5 of the blue stones above the baguettes, and about 7 or 8 tiny white stones. They have all been replaced with new Swarovski crystals. It can be very difficult to find new stones that match the originals, so rather than have 2 different color blue stones in that line of blue stones above the baguettes, I replaced them all with new Swarovski crystals that are close to the original color, but not the exact color. The two large open back cranberry glass stones are original stones that have some surface wear in the form of little scratches on the glass. The pin may have once had a gold wash but now it is silver tone. They can be different items.
