Vintage Designer Wm Hobe 1940's Sterling & Gold Plated Multicolored Rhinestone Brooch. When they write the book about Hobe, this brooch will be on the cover! It has every element that collectors recognize as the most refined and precious of all the Hobe creations of the 1940's. It has curling ribbons of sterling silver, applied leaves, berries and a flower of plated gold, and bright multi-colored open-back rhinestones.

William Hobe's designs were entirely hand-made by a group of master artisans in his N. Studio and could never by replicated today. This brooch is one of only 108 designs that were patented by William Hobe and is surely one of the most beautiful. MAKER This piece is signed on the reverse in an applied, circular plaque: Hobe; STERLING; DESIGN PAT'D. SIZE This brooch measures 3" tall and is 2-3/4" wide at the widest point. CONDITION This brooch is in Excellent Vintage Condition. There are no missing stones, elements or joint breaks. There is no wear to the sterling silver/gold plate.
