Vtg Floral Spray Brooch Faux Hematite Cabochon Rhinestones LARGE Rare Gold Tone
This stunning and large vintage floral spray brooch features hematite cabochon and teardrop/pear stones with smokey rhinestones set in gold tone metal. We do not know for certain the hematite is faux or real, and we cannot find this brooch anywhere else, so we have erred on the side of caution and called it faux. Our gem tester beeps at us when we try to test it and only moves as far as glass.
Our gem tester doesn't usually beep unless the needle has moved all the way over to the diamond area, which typically tells us we are dealing with a diamond, moissanite, or some sort of metal. The cabochon also has an open foil back, which may indicate it is faux.It is in nice vintage condition--wear is consistent with age and use. There are small, expected areas of gold tone loss.
They are difficult to see, especially with the wild, beautiful busyness of this piece. Please see photos for more detail. It is obvious this is a high-end piece--we just wish we knew who designed this lovely brooch!
